And Syncthing has apps for every platform. So you have as much space as the server has. You rent a server somewhere and install Syncthing and then whenever you "upload" anything, you're really just transferring it to that server. If that's the case, you might want to consider renting your own server somewhere and setting up Syncthing which basically allows you to become your own dropbox. If you're just transfering to other computers, that's easy enough, because you can setup the same software on them, but for phoen or web browsing you might be out of luck. Step 2 Move your mouse to the windows top-right edge and click on Settings& then Preferences. BoxCryptor has phone apps and browser plugins, but other than that, there's not tons of available resources for getting your content on other devices. Step 1 Go to your taskbar and click the Dropbox icon. That won't work with other services though, just Dropbox.)Įdit: Cryptomator might be a better option instead of EncFS.īe warned though, this means that everything on Dropbox is encrypted and so you can't access it with other devices like you normally would. (Also, with Dropbox specifically, you can just have a giant Veracrypt volume and use that instead of EncFS. On Windows, you can use EncFS MP or BoxCryptor, although note that BoxCryptor is closed source and also uses what I personally consider to be fairly weak defaults. There's some theoretical attacks against it, so you should pre-encrypt anything REALLY sensitive with something like VeraCrypt. So what gets uploaded to Dropbox is only encrypted versions. It encrypts a folder of your choice and then mounts the decrypted version like a thumb drive, so you can use files like you normally would, but they're encrypted/decrypted on the fly as you use them.
